The Castle of Petrela

The Castle of Petrela is a Castle that was constructed in the middle ages, during the Byzantine empire (Justinian the 1st). This castle was constructed by Justinian to protect his empire. This castle was constructed in a rough terrain.
The Castle is on the southeastern part of Tirana, this was a strategic point for the Egnatia road that playd a crucial role merchant use as well as Military use.
The Petrela Castle is one of the Albanian Castles that can be easy accessed from Tirana as well as you can enjoy a wonderful view of the Tirana region.
